Philippa is a pioneering travel expert with over two decades of deep expertise in India, establishing herself as a leading authority on the country’s diverse and nuanced travel landscape. Since 1998, she has been instrumental in shaping how international travelers experience India, having played a pivotal role in developing Indian divisions for prestigious UK travel companies including Ampersand Travel, Real Holidays, Experience Travel Group, Selective Asia, and Unforgettable Travel.

Her profound connection with India runs deep – having lived in the country for thirteen years, she brings an insider’s perspective tempered by an outsider’s keen observation. Her experiences range from managing a lodge in a central Indian tiger reserve to consulting for hotels and destination management companies, always driven by an insatiable curiosity to explore beyond conventional tourist paths.

Passionate about revealing ‘A Different India’, Philippa founded Indian Experiences to provide specialized consultancy services to the travel trade. Together with her team of seasoned India travel experts, she offers unparalleled itinerary, experiences and content creation that goes beyond surface-level narratives. Their approach combines first-hand knowledge, deep cultural understanding, and an authentic insider’s perspective, crafting narratives that capture the true essence of India’s multifaceted landscape.

She has also contributed to publications like Times of India and MINT, and authored the book “Escape to India”. Through her blog, www.memsahibinindia.com, she continues to share unique insights into the country’s complex and captivating culture.
