Our Commitment to Sustainability
The ethos behind Indian Experiences has always been sustainability. We carefully select partners who believe in:
- Low impact travel
- Supporting local communities
- Taking travelers off the beaten path
- Revealing the true essence of destinations
“Monuments create the backdrop but people create the experiences.”
Our NGO Partnerships
Throughout our travels in India and Nepal, we’ve encountered remarkable NGOs that have deeply inspired us. We go beyond simply acknowledging their work – we actively collaborate to:
- Create meaningful travel products
- Encourage responsible visits to these organizations
- Provide free marketing and social media support
- Offer product training that highlights their crucial work
Our approach is immersive, not voyeuristic. We believe in slowing down, meeting people, and creating unique, memorable experiences that benefit both travelers and local communities.
About Wildlife SOS
Wildlife SOS was established in 1995 with the holistic belief that providing sustainable alternative livelihoods and education to communities dependent on wildlife and natural resources, would lead to sustainable wildlife protection. Wildlife SOS’s major accolade has been the abolition of the barbaric dancing bears practice in which sloth bear cubs were poached from the wild and trained using cruel methods to entertain tourists. We have been rescuing and rehabilitating captive elephants in India since 2009, and have provided a safe haven to 20 elephants…
About Camel Charisma
Spend a morning with Camel Charisma (an animal herders’ welfare organization) who works with Rajasthan’s pastoral nomads, especially the Raika. A major focus of its work is the conservation of the camel, Rajasthan’s iconic animal whose numbers have been dwindling in recent years. They have come up with a unique experience whereby you can spend a morning with the camel herders, join them and their herds of between 20 – 150 camels, for a breakfast with a difference. Their ͞chaifaris͟ is an opportunity to meet these nomads whose way of life has been unchanged for centuries, join them at one of their nomadic camps, make friends with the camels, try camel milk and camel milk tea brewed over the campfire and a breakfast of dal bhatti made in the embers of the camp fire…
About Pink City Rickshaw Company
In many ways, Jaipur has become almost too geared towards tourists. Pink City Rickshaw Company breaks that mould, by giving back. A rare experience where you really feel like you are benefiting the local community, and the women that make up the back-bone of The Pink City. Plus you get to drive around town in a pink and gold e-rickshaw (and laugh at the head’s turning at the sight of a female driver). We can only hope this becomes a more common! Whilst the ladies are not guides, and speak little English, The Pink City Rickshaw Company have got around this by providing tailor-made print-outs of every itinerary. So you’ll know exactly where, and what, you’re doing. We couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

About Smokeless Cookstove Foundation
Smokeless Cookstove Foundation (SCF) a Non-profit organisation founded by Nitisha Agrawal works towards curbing the problem of Household Air Pollution in rural kitchens since 2017. SCF has created its footprints in over 14 Indian states through various intervention models related to access to clean cooking.
SCF’s projects and training models aim to open dialogues on indoor air pollution due to traditional cooking practices, its impact on women’s health and overall drudgery, issues related to environment and forest degradation, and the importance of linking clean cooking to a livelihood opportunity to improve economic and social impact.
Its core values are derived from fostering & enabling inclusivity there by creating regenerative, localised, women centric, self-sustaining, community-based models which is unique for each project geography and partner community.
With its signature training program – the Smokeless Cookstove Revolution, SCF seeks to build programmes for and with the marginal, rural, migrant and tribal population through the skill transference of making a ‘virtually zero-cost, efficient & improved cookstove’ based on the principles of Rocket Stove Technology.
